CMS Launches Medicare Prescription Payment Plan

In January, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services launched the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan (MPPP) to help reduce out of pocket costs. This program is a new payment option available for beneficiaries under the Inflation Reduction Act for Medicare Part D. The MPPP allows beneficiaries to pay their out-of-pocket prescription drug costs in the form of capped monthly payments over the course of the plan year. CMS has released a webpage and an interactive tool to help Part D enrollees determine if and how they would benefit from this program.
