MSHO Member is Headed to Capitol Hill to Serve as the ASH Congressional Fellow

Jerome Seid M.D.Jerome Seid, MD, FACP, MSHO’s Immediate Past President, has been selected by the American Society of Hematology (ASH) to be the next ASH Congressional Fellow. Dr. Seid will spend a year in Washington DC (September 2020 to September 2021), where he will help shape health care and hematology policy in either a congressional office or on a congressional committee.

Established in 2016, the fellowship aims to educate ASH members about the policymaking process, including Congress’s relationship to the hematology community, while educating Congressional members and staff about hematology. During the fellowship, Dr. Seid will give periodic oral briefings to ASH’s Chief Policy Officer and others on the lessons learned from the fellowship experience.

MSHO is extremely proud to have one of our own participate in this program.  We know that Dr. Seid and the hematology community will benefit greatly from this fellowship experience. We are looking forward to tracking Dr. Seid’s progress and hearing all about his adventures in DC.
