Dr. Hirva Mamdani is a thoracic medical oncologist and Associate Professor of Medicine and Oncology at Karmanos Cancer Institute, Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. She is the leader of the Thoracic Multidisciplinary Team and Director of the Lung Cancer Screening Program at Karmanos Cancer Institute. Her areas of expertise include diagnosis and management of lung cancer and mesothelioma.
Dr. Mamdani’s research interests include exploring novel biomarkers of response and resistance to targeted therapy and immunotherapy in lung cancer, mechanisms of resistance to immune checkpoint inhibitors in lung cancer, and developing strategies to reduce racial disparities in the outcomes of lung cancer.
