Position for Hematologist Oncologist at John D Dingell VAMC (Detroit VA)

John D Dingell VA Medical Center is recruiting for board-certified/eligible Staff Attending with duties for Hematology and Oncology.

Responsibilities:

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 0800am-4:30pm.

JDD VAMC has inpatient consulting services include pulmonary/critical care, cardiology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, endocrinology, general surgery, vascular surgery, orthopedic surgery, interventional radiology and palliative care.

JDD VAMC is a primary training site for the Wayne State University for residents and fellows.

Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

Provide day-to-day care of veteran patients, both in the inpatient and outpatient settings
Assess, consult, and treat hematology and oncology patients
Serve as an expert in chemotherapy and other hematology and oncology procedures, to include bone marrow aspiration and biopsy
Work closely with other providers, nurses, pharmacist and other disciplines for caring our veterans
Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards meeting at the VA
Able to become a staff faculty in Hematology and Oncology at Wayne State University actively participate in training residents, fellows and other medical students that rotate at the VA
Sign chemo regimens, obtain patient consents, triage consults and follow VA policies and procedures for conduct, time and attendance and scheduling rules.
