The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) in cooperation with Karmanos Cancer Institute and Gilda’s of Metro Detroit are offering a FREE, Virtual Young Breast Cancer Symposium on January 14, 2023, from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm ET. The symposium has a track for both professionals, those with breast cancer, and breast cancer survivors. Join us to learn from experts in the field and women who experienced cancer under the age of 45.

The symposium will feature keynote speaker, Dr. Catalina Lawsin, a licensed clinical psychologist who will talk about Reclaiming Sexuality After Cancer, with a focus on common sexual changes after cancer and strategies to consciously connect. There will also be several breakout sessions available for all audiences, including people with cancer, cancer survivors, and providers. The topics include fertility/reproductive concerns, financial toxicity, diet after cancer, cancer myths, genetic cancer, and medical care for post-treatment survivors.

Continuing Education Units will be provided.

This event is being paid for by a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Contact Debbie Webster at websterd1@michigan.gov if you have any questions.
