2018 Brings Change to MSHO

The MSHO staff wishes you a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season!

2018 will bring forth new changes to our beloved society. As many of you know, Carol Teal Christner will be leaving Michigan for Asheville, NC and has resigned from her role as executive director. She will continue to work in the Hem/Onc field and will hopefully have the chance to see many of you again at national meetings and other events.

Mary Kay Makarewicz has been promoted to serve as the new executive director. After 15 years with MSHO, there is no one who knows more about the society, nor who has shown greater commitment over the years.

Alicia Uryga has joined MSHO from Karmanos Cancer Institute where she coordinated CME symposium’s for multi-specialty teams. Alicia will serve as the program manager for MSHO. Her responsibilities will include organizing and overseeing the execution of live and online events that MSHO will offer.

Kasie Blazevski will become more involved in membership development, while continuing to provide excellent member service to you when you have questions regarding membership, the website, or any other issues. Suzie (Marge) Kozlo will be in the office one day a week to keep everyone organized and Michelle Weiss will continue to be our Senior Reimbursement Consultant.

Despite the changes, one thing that you can be assured of is that the MSHO you know and love will continue to provide the hematology and oncology community with the best run state society in the country!

Happy Holidays!

Carol, Mary Kay, Alicia, Michelle, Kasie, and Suzie
